磷酸甘露糖异构酶 (PMI)
磷酸甘露糖异构酶 (PMI) 通过催化甘露糖-6-磷酸 (Man-6-P) 转化为果糖-6-磷酸 (Fru-6-P), 或者使这两种糖之间以可逆方式相互转化, 在抗坏血酸 (AsA,也称为维生素 C)的生物合成中起着至关重要的作用。虽然植物中 AsA 生物合成的主要途径涉及 L-半乳糖途径,但 PMI 通过调节 GDP-甘露糖的可用性间接做出贡献, GDP-甘露糖是该途径中的关键前体。
Phosphomannose Isomerase(PMI)
Phosphomannose isomerase (PMI) plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of ascorbic acid (AsA), also known as vitamin C, by catalyzing the conversion of mannose-6-phosphate (Man-6-P) to fructose-6-phosphate (Fru-6-P) or, alternatively, enabling the interconversion between these two sugars in a reversible manner. While the primary pathway for AsA biosynthesis in plants involves the L-galactose pathway, PMI contributes indirectly by regulating the availability of GDP-mannose, a key precursor in the pathway.
